Basic principles
- Read the product label before use.
- Keep the room ventilated and stay within the recommended amount.
- Prevent accidental contact or ingestion by children and pets.
- Keep products away from eyes, damaged skin and unintended flame.
- Stop use if discomfort occurs and seek appropriate professional advice where needed.
Scent names are not ingredient statements
Names such as mint, lavender or musky impression describe how something smells. They do not mean that a product contains an essential oil of the same name, and they cannot determine suitability for a particular person. Follow the ingredients, concentration, format, label and safety information for the actual product.
Spaces that need extra care
Cars, small rooms, spaces shared with pets, and rooms used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, by infants, or by people with asthma or scent sensitivity require more careful control of amount, duration and ventilation. If suitability is uncertain, pause added fragrance and seek advice from a doctor or another appropriately qualified professional.
Distinguish non-flame diffusion from burning
- Keep reed-diffuser liquid beyond the reach of children and pets to prevent spills, contact or ingestion.
- Burning candles or incense produces smoke and particles. Avoid continued burning near infants or people with respiratory sensitivity, and ventilate the room.
